Allene Beekman

Allene Beekman, 66, of North Fairfield, passed away peacefully at home on April 6, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on August 16, 1950 in Willard, daughter to the late James Arthur and Lessie (nee Salyers) Parrott. Allene graduated from South Central in 1968.

She worked for R.R. Donnelley for 26 years and in later years was a teacher's aide specializing in helping children with special needs. Allene had a heart for children and loved animals, flowers, flower gardens and butterflies. She was a wonderful cook, wife, mother, companion and friend.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 50 years John Beekman; children, Allen Beekman of Ashland and Adam (Tami) Beekman of Palm Harbor, FL; 4 grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy Parrott of Greenwich, Pauline Lengyel of Celeryville and Susan Castle of Greenwich; brother-in-law Rick Knott of New London. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Jodi Ann; brother, Junior and sister, Jewell.

Calling hours will be Monday, April 10, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St.,Greenwich where a service will be held on Tuesday at 11 am with burial following in Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery. Condolences may be directed online at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
