Barbara Ellen Sabin

Barbara Ellen Sabin, 73, of Wellington passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at University Hospitals Elyria. She was born on September 6, 1941 in Oberlin to the late Raymond Jay and Pearl (nee Glynn) Sabin. Barb grew up in the Henrietta Township area and attended Firelands High School, but lived most of her life in Wellington.

Barb worked 38 years at EST and First Merit Bank in Wellington as Head Teller, and retired in October of 2003. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, baking, going fishing, playing bingo, and her numerous cats. Barb was also an avid Cleveland Cavs and Indians fan, Jim Thome being her favorite Indian. Most of all Barb cherished time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Barb will be missed and her life celebrated by all those who loved her now and always. She will be forever the greatest Mom, Grandmother, Great-grandmother (G.G.) forever. Fond memories of Barb will be cherished by her daughters, Brenda (Randy) Leiby, of Wellington, and Beth (Steve) Albrecht of Amherst, grandchildren Susan (Tom) Jennings, Kristie (Brian) Ohlin, Randy (Beth) Leiby II, and Stefan Albrecht, and great-grandchildren Reece and Josie Leiby. Barb also made many friends through Preferred Care at Home.

Friends and family will gather on Sunday, September 14, from 6 p.m. until the celebration of Barb's life beginning at 7:30 p.m. Burial will take place on Monday at 11 a.m. at Camden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be directed to either Stein Hospice, who embraced Barb and her family through her time of need, at 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, 44870, or to the Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Rd, Elyria, 44035.
