Carol Lee Leonardi

Carol Lee Leonardi, 69, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 at her home surrounded by family. On March 16, 1945, Carol was born in Cleveland to James and Emma (nee Mayhugh) Taulbee. Carol was deeply religious and attended Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Wellington.

Antiquing was a major hobby for Carol. She loved spending her time at her booth at local flea markets befriending new faces and showing off her newest finds and homemade crafts. She enjoyed retirement to the fullest and spent many hours traveling. Proud to be a grandma and great grandma, she treasured her small army of a family and had a knack for making each and every one of them feel special. She brought that quality to daily tasks and when she did something, she did it big; her extra attention to detail and love made everything she touched seem magical.
Carol also liked to knit and crochet - every family member has a blanket or afghan that she made just for them. When she found a movie she was fond of, she watched it over and over again until everyone in the house could quote all the lines; some of her favorites included Dances with Wolves, Titanic and Meet Joe Black.

She leaves behind her husband, Harry, whose lucky encounter selling her tires ended in 51 wonderful years of marriage. Carol was a wonderful mother who raised six children, Margaret (Lee) Sheets, of Ashland, Harry (Anthrina) Leonardi IV, of Wellington, Lisa (Douglas) McIe, of Cuyahoga Falls, James (Diane) Leonardi, of Wellington, Carol (Dean) Hamilton, of Ravenna, and Michael (Kathy) Leonardi, of Wellington. Other family members include her mother, Emma Taulbee, of LaGrange; 20 adoring grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and siblings, Linda Ross, of Wellington, and James Taulbee, of Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her father, James, and sister, Darlene Neville.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 24 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Friends will also be received from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 512 N.
