Corinne Oney

Corinne Oney, 80, of Greenwich, OH, passed from this life to the next surrounding by her family on October 16th, 2017 at The University of Toledo Medical Center after a sudden illness. Corinne was known for being a godly Christian woman who loved her savior, her husband Alfred and cherished her family.

Because she loved the beauty of nature, she was passionate about birds, trees and gardening. She took much pride in caring for her numerous flower and vegetable gardens. She passed this love of nature and her "green thumb" to her children and grandchildren. She was known for her cooking and instilled in her family the value of education. She was known for being very social and family gatherings were always a highlight for her. She was always delighted when family visited or took the time to visit and call.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Alfred Oney; children, Steve Oney of Sandusky, Laura Sweeting of North Fairfield, Cheryl (Daniel) Mehl of Boyne City, MI, Robyn (Patrick) Bovia of Shelby and Dawn Oney of Greenwich; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and brothers, C.L. Jones and Robert Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allie and Zada (Gillum) Jones; daughter Carol Flint; siblings, Thurman, Olray, Donald, Emmit, Imogene, Ruth and an infant brother, Danny.

Family and friends may call from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, October 19th, 2017 at the Greenwich United Methodist Church, 18 E. Main St, Greenwich, OH 44837, where funeral services will be held on Friday, October 20th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Her pastor of many years Bob Hudberg (P.B.) will be officiating.
