Dotty Gobel Obituary
Dotty (nee Layton) Gobel, 66, of Sullivan, died on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Avon Place Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Born on August 31, 1951 in Edwight, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Gaynell (nee Sifers) Layton.
Dotty was a retail manager and had worked for Toys R Us, SAS Shoes, and Meyers Hatchery. She was a devoted and hard worker. She enjoyed crafting and reading but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Shannon (Greg) Cline, of Cleveland and Courtney (David) Sadler, of Wadsworth; grandsons Owen and Quinn Sadler and sister, Tammy Layton; nephews, Christopher, Tristan and Joshua Hearn; aunts, Louise Vohar, Janice Brown and Stanton Sifers and many cousins who loved her. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Gobel, and parents Ernest and Gaynell Layton.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 5-8 pm at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, where services will be held on Thursday, January 11 beginning at 11:30am. Burial will follow at Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, 44270. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any monetary donations be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
