Dwight V. Cottrell, 69, of Wellington, died Monday, October 9, 2017. Born on March 29, 1948 in Lodi, he was the son of the late Roy and Mary (nee Hart) Cottrell. Dwight was a 1968 graduate of Wellington High School.
A master mechanic, Dwight work for E & L Transport which later became Jake Cooper Transport. He was a do it yourself fix it man, there wasn't much he couldn't fix, from tractors to full home remodels. Dwight also enjoyed time outdoors, but most of all he cherished time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 49 years E. Jean (nee Lewis) Cottrell; daughter Tina (Sean) Cottrell- Buga, of Wellington; he was the "Awesome, Special Poppa" to Matthew and Madyson Buga; brother to Bill (Connie) Cottrell, Joel Cottrell, and Connie (Gordon Young) Cottrell, all of Wellington; and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dwight was preceded in death by his brothers Timothy, Sidney and Wayne Cottrell.
Friends and family will gather for a memorial service on Friday, October 13, beginning at 11 a.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, Wellington. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Condolences may be directed online at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
