Edna F. Halsey, 101, of Wellington, died on Monday April 24, 2017.
The daughter of the late Emmett and Minni (nee Linscott) Maxwell, Edna was born on February 29, 1916 in Cambridge, Ohio. She graduated from Central High School in 1933 and was an Ohio resident her entire life, moving to Elyria in 1942.
During WWII Edna worked at Kolson in Elyria. She was a member of the Pittsfield Community Church, where she was lovingly known as "Grandma." She also helped with the Y-Teens. In 2016 at the age of 100, Edna was chosen as the Senior Citizen Queen of the Fair at the Lorain County Fair.
She is survived by her loving children, Betty Ann Forsyth, of Chapin, SC, Robert Halsey, of Fostoria and Janet Crumley, of Wellington; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Halsey, in 1983; twin brothers, William and Robert and a great granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Pittsfield Community Church, 17026 State Route 58. Donations in Edna's memory may be directed to the Pittsfield Community Church.
