Gene Chandler Obituary
Gene Chandler, 73, of Arkansas, passed away on April 9, 2016.
Born June 22, 1942 in Greenwich, to his late parents, Earl "Bud" Betty (Westbrook) Chandler, he graduated from Greenwich High School in 1960. Gene served in the Navy from 1963 to 1967.
Gene worked at the former Fishbaugh Construction as a millwright. He moved to Arkansas in 1972 and retired in 2005 as a self-employed home builder in Bentonville.
Gene loved to fish and garden.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sheila (Poe); children, Denny (Gina) Chandler of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Denise (Erik Waldren) Chandler of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Dustin Chandler of Bentonville, Arkansas; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Tom (Marilee) Chandler of Greenwich and Judy (Gary) Ebinger of Norwalk; aunt, Julia Blair of Greenwich and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held 2 pm Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Greenwich United Methodist Church, 18 East Main Street. Private inurnment will be at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Gene's name may be given to the Greenwich United Methodist Church.
