George R. Puskas, age 80, died Saturday evening, July 12 at Kingston of Ashland. He was born in Lorain on January 21, 1934 to the late George and Elizabeth (nee Stumphauzer) Puskas and lived over 60 years in Wellington and Sullivan.
He was a carpenter and project superintendent for TJ Hume Construction in Lorain, Plum Construction of St. Louis and HBE of St. Louis.
George served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Wellington American Legion, Wellington VFW, Huntington AMVETS, Wellington Eagles and the Ashland Moose Lodge. George was also a member of the Faith Christian Church in Spencer.
He is survived by his sons, Michael (Sandy) Puskas of Columbus and Daniel Puskas of Sullivan; daughters, Sherry (Martin) Ogle of Richmond, Virginia and Kathryn (Lee) Jarrell of Sullivan; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and sisters, Margaret Bower, Louise Ellison, Viola Vanch and Delores Yonkings. George was preceded in death by his wife, Mary and brother, William Puskas.
Friends and family may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 16th at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Tom Keller officiating. Burial will follow in Huntington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
