Gilbert Dagon Obituary
Gilbert L. Dagon passed away peacefully at the age of 82, on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in Westerville. He was born on March 3, 1936, in Era, Ohio, son of the late Russell and Opal (nee Baker) Dagon. Gil grew up in Columbus and moved to New London in 1956.
He graduated 8th grade from St. Patrick's in Columbus and graduated in 1952 from Central High School in Columbus. Gil served 13 years in the 989 Engineers Army Reserves and retired from Norwalk Furniture Company as a foreman after 40 years.
Gil enjoyed showing antique cars, especially his 1975 Corvette and watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his sister, Janet Bradford; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gil was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Reba Faye Dagon; sister, Lois Viock; baby sister, Patricia Ann Dagon and brother, Robert and Marvin Dagon.
The visitation for Gil will be held at Eastman Funeral Home in New London from 10 am until the time of the service, at 11 am on Saturday, June 23, 2018. His interment will follow at Grove Street Cemetery in New London.
Memorial contributions in Gil's honor can be given to the Arthritis Foundation National Office, 1355 Peachtree Street Northeast, Suite 600, Atlanta, GA 30309 or the American Heart Association, 1375 East 9th Street, Suite 600, Cleveland, Ohio 44144.
