Ilene Viriginia Wykle-Cornish

Ilene Virginia Cornish, 86, of Sullivan, died Monday, July 31, 2017 at University Hospital in Cleveland. a daughter of the late Zernie and Bessie (nee Craft) Wykle, she was born on February 14, 1931 in Monroe County, WV. Ilene lived most of her life in Grafton Ohio but West Virginia was always home.

Ilene worked and retired from Midview Schools after nearly 20 years. She enjoyed watching TV ministries. Ilene especially enjoyed spending time outdoors and in her garden. She raised flowers and kept up with her landscaping. blackberries were a favorite to collect and cook with. Ilene liked to tend to the birds outside her house always making sure they were feed. most of all she cherished her family. One of 12 children, she was close with her siblings and she was a devoted mother, always making sure her daughter felt loved.

Survivors include her daughter Brenda Vaught; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; step-mother Lucille Wykle; siblings Dorothy Harbaugh, Margaret Wykle-Williams, Lee Wykle, Kenneth Wykle, Barbara Bastic, Richard Wykle, James Wykle, and Linda Carrington. She was preceded in death by her brothers Edgar, William, and Hubert Wykle as well as 4 infant children.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, August 3, from 10 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 11 a.m.at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington.
