Joan Watts Obituary
Joan Watts passed away at the age of 83 on Sunday, January 18, 2015 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was born March 2, 1931, in New London, daughter of the late Henry and Georgia (Austin) Sanford. She was raised in Clarksfield and later lived in New London.
She graduated from New London High School in 1949. Joan was a secretary for the former CE Ward and Jennings and Churella, realtor for Coldwell Banker in Ashland and later enjoyed being a homemaker.
Joan was a member of the Red Hat Society, Eastern Star, Buckeye "Winnies" Winnebago Club and Copus Hill Car Club.
She enjoyed traveling and spent her winters in Florida. Joan spent her time working in her flower beds and painting vintage ceramic Santa Claus'.
Survived by her husband of 65 years, Mack Watts; sons, Christopher (Michelle) Watts of New London and Brad (Joey) Watts of Vermilion; daughter, Claudia (Les) Gyori of Michigan; grandchildren, Maleigha (Matt) White, Brandon Watts and Sean Watts and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce and sister, Lois.
Her family will greet friends from 11 am Thursday until the service at 1 pm at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street. Burial will follow in Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions can be made in Joan's name to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
