JoAnn Lovell, 54, of Elyria, died Sunday, February 22, 2015 after a long illness. She was born on October 25, 1960 to Ray and the late Jean (nee Chioccola) Ware. JoAnn was a 1978 graduate of North Ridgeville High School and earned an associate's degree from the Lorain County Community College.
JoAnn worked for a short time at US Merchandising where she met her husband Tracy. She later worked for the Elyria school systems driving bus, working as a secretary in the administration building, and as a teachers aid and held several other positions. She also served as president of the local Ohio Association of Public School Employees. JoAnn was active with the Boy Scouts of America, serving on the district round table, working at Firelands Scout Reservation, serving as a den mother, and as a member of the Explorers and Venture crew 100. She was a member of the Amherst Choristers, and Sweet Adeline. JoAnn enjoyed crafting, working with wood and wood burning, as well as yarn crafts. She was also a talented photographer.
JoAnn is survived by her loving husband of nearly 27 years Tracy; son Keith (Lori) Lovell of Amherst; granddaughter Gracilyn; father Ray Ware and sister, Darlene Dye both of TN; sister-in-laws Terilyn Esparza and Lurene Townsend, and brother-in-law James Lovell. She was preceded in death by her mother Jean, step-mother Genell, and a brother Ron.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, February 27, from 4-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main, Wellington, where services will be held on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. burial will follow at Columbia Center Cemetery.
