John Timothy (JT) Kalnay, 54, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at his home. JT was born in Belleville, Ontario on July 22, 1961 to Norman and Diane (nee Upper) Kalnay.
JT spent the early part of his life in Canada, attending the Royal Military College and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Ottawa. He then came to the United States, where he earned his master's degree from the University of Dayton and his Juris Doctor degree from Case Western University.
JT worked in computer science and practiced law as a computer patent attorney. He was a published author who wrote 21 novels and computer science books that sell on Amazon. JT was an avid rock climber and weight lifter that was awarded the title of Masters US and Pan American Weight Lifting Champion. He had planned on participating in the World Championship in Tokyo in April. After marrying into the Brady family, JT made their community his own, he and his wife had recently purchased a farm in Rochester. He enjoyed judging the Rochester 4th of July Homecoming parade, an activity which he had done for the past 15 years. JT loved spending time with his nieces and nephews especially playing basketball.
JT is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Susann Brady-Kalnay; his mother, Diane; one sister and four brothers. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman.
