John A. Niner, 72, of Wellington Died Monday, February 16, 2015 at EMH University Hospital in Elyria. He was born on July 27, 1942 in Westport Maryland to the late John and Nellie (nee Friend) Niner. John grew up in Keyser, WV and spent most of his adult life in the Wellington area. He served in the United States Army and was the head chair trombone player with the Army Navy band.
John retired from General Motors in 1993. He was very musical and enjoyed playing his keyboard. John also liked to spend time outdoors hunting.
John is survived by his three daughters Debra Hathorne of Texas, Angela Blosser of North Carolina, and Robin Niner of Sullivan; grandchildren Jessica, Branden, Thomas, Madison, and Chase; sister Donna Adams of Idaho.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, with Military honors at 4 p.m. Burial will take place at Potomac Memorial Gardens in Keyser, WV on Monday, March 2.
