Joshua Byers Obituary
Joshua Russell Byers died Thursday, May 19, 2016 at MetroHealth in Cleveland. On October 8, 1998 Josh was born in Cleveland at MetroHealth to Scott and Heidi (nee Spiegelberg) Byers.
Josh was a Junior at Wellington High School. A smart kid, he excelled at academics and was proud to be an Honors Student. He played football in Junior High but chose not to continue the sport due in part to his gentle spirit.
A sensitive soul, Josh was a friend to many and always made others his highest priority. One of his numerous talents was his quick wit and bringing a sense of calm to all those around him.
Josh loved the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was very tech savvy, enjoyed playing video games and giggling to videos on YouTube.
He is survived by his loving parents Scott and Heidi; siblings, Danielle (Dario) Torres and Matthew Byers, of Viera, FL and Nicholas Byers, of Wellington; nieces, Ava and Alaina; grandparents, Carol Merick, of Oberlin, Ronald (Shirley) Spiegelberg, of Oberlin, Edward (Joy) Byers, of Osprey, FL.
A great multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins loved their precious Joshy. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joan Byers.
Josh was selfless and decided to be an organ donor. His decision blessed 6 others in need. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Lifebanc, 4775 Richmond Road, Cleveland, Ohio, 44128-5919. Donate life.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Wellington High School, 629 North Main St., from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. service with Rev. Mark Hebebrand officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be given at: www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
