Juanita Williams-Deppen, 82, of New London, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 26, 2017. She was born on the family farm back in the hills of Blue Moon, Kentucky. Juanita was the first daughter born after 8 sons to the late Silas and Cassie (nee Moore) Williams on September 11, 1935.
Juanita lived her entire adult life in the New London area. She was employed by Kent Sporting Goods, Thomas Creative Apparel and the New London Laundromat for many years. Juanita attended the Old Regular Baptist Churches.
She loved to garden and work in her flower beds and was famous for her "hillbilly breakfast" and southern style cooking. Juanita enjoyed rooting for the Cleveland Indians and never gave up on her Cleveland Browns.
She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her children, Kathy (Kevin) Heileman, Burshel (Wendy) Kidd all of New London and Judy Statzer of Sandusky; stepchildren, Bryan (Kim) Deppen, Dennis (Diana) Deppen, Sally (Robert) Gogolin and Michael Brown; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Vernedith Ratliff of Stanville, KY; brothers, Howard Williams of New London, Amos Williams of Newark, OH and Delmar Williams of Allen, KY and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her loving husband, Melvin Deppen; brothers, Dennis, Ballard, Rufford, Dingus, Stallard and Allen Williams; grandchildren, Joshua Dankmeyer and Erika Parker; stepdaughter, Sharon Brown; stepson, Norman Deppen and step grandson, Jason Deppen.
Friends may call from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Elder Larry Newsome officiating. Burial will follow the service on Friday at Fitchville Cemetery. The family would like to thank Elder Larry Newsome, the Laurels of New London and Pathways Hospice of Ashland for the loving care they gave to Juanita.
