Karl Hurst Obituary
Karl L. Hurst, 90, of Norwalk, passed away at The Laurels of New London on February 16, 2015.
Born on August 24, 1924, in Oberlin, he was the son of Meryl and Metia Hurst.
He was a lifelong farmer, raised chickens and peddled eggs to local schools and restaurants.
Karl served on the Rural Water board for Northern Ohio, former Hartland Township trustee for 16 years and was also a member of the Fitchville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Diana Wagner of O'Fallon, MO; stepchildren, Fred Burras of North Fairfield, John Burras of PA and Bill Burras of Norwalk; grandsons, Robert (Gena) Wagner of Dardenne Prairie, MO and Curtis (Heidi) Wagner of Fredericktown; great grandsons, Braxton Wagner, Landon Wagner and Schyler Epler; brothers, Alvin (Marge) Hurst of Norwalk and Larry (Connie) Hurst of Norwalk and special friend and caregiver, Linda Hahler of Greenwich. Karl was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Carol; second wife, Donna; stepson, Tommy Burras; stepdaughter; Tammy Jo Burras and brother, Phillip and Fred Hurst.
Karl's family will greet friends from 4-8 pm Friday at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a service will be held 10:30 am Saturday, February 21st with Pastor Georgette Gaston officiating. Burial will follow in Hartland Ridge Cemetery, Collins. If desired, memorial contributions can be made in Karl's name to Fitchville United Methodist Church, 1593 US 250, New London, Ohio 44851 or Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line Drive, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
