Mildred L. (Howland) Hall, 89, lifelong resident of New London, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk. She was born on May 28, 1925, in New London, daughter to the late Worthing and Ruth (Canfield) Howland.
She graduated from New London High School in 1943. Mildred worked for Dr. Dale Nirode for 17 years as his secretary. Mildred was a member of the New London United Methodist Church and served as treasurer for the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the New London Grange and played the wash board in the kitchenettes.
Mildred's passion was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.
She is survived by her children, Keith (Donna) Hall of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Marvin (Cheryl) Hall of Upper Arlington, Gail (Sid) Geist of New London and Wendy (Burshel) Kidd of New London; 7 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, W. Jack Hall; sister, LaVerne Tedder and half sister, Frances Davis.
The family will greet friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London where a service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Cheryl Roshon officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Street Cemetery, New London.
