Naomi Grace Searl, age 84, of Ashland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. Naomi was born September 16, 1930 in LaGrange, Ohio, daughter of the late Paul and Irene L. (nee McBurney) Gott. She married Fred Clayton Searl on December 4, 1948. Naomi grew up in Wellington and attended Wellington and Spencer Schools. She drove school bus for 22 years for Crestview School District and was a waitress for more than 20 years. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church, New London for 15 years and also attended the Bethel Baptist Church, Savannah for more than 50 years, where she ministered in both churches as church hostess and in the church choir. She loved serving the Lord with much hospitality to others with her wonderful cooking. She loved being around family and friends, and also enjoyed taking care of her flowers.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 66 years, Fred Searl of Ashland; her sons, Tom (Kristen) Searl of Adario, Dean (Becky) Searl of Ashland, Keith (Robin) Searl of Savannah; son-in-law, Jim Bauckman of Savannah; daughter-in-law, Nancy Searl of Ashland; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; her brothers, Richard (Lois) Gott of Spencer and Harold (Carol) Gott of Elyria; sisters-in-law, Nancy Gott and Helen Gott. She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Searl, her daughter, Cindy Bauckman and infant daughter Debbie Searl; her brothers, Myron, Paul and Lloyd.

Friends may call from 2 -5 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2015 and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, 432 Park Ave., New London, with Pastor Dan Moore officiating.
