Orbie Lee Case

Orbie Lee Case, 71 years young, of New London, passed away early Thursday morning, May 14, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on April 19, 1944, in Floyd County, Kentucky, he was the son of Josh and Birchie (Kidd) Case. He graduated in 1963 from New London High School. He was a member of the New London Church of Christ.

He worked at Ohio Body until it closed, Orbie worked as a carpenter for a while until he went to work at Roth Corporation. He worked there until he had a major stroke which incapacitated him for the next 21 years. He was also a minister of the Gospel until he had the stroke.

His pride and joy was his grandchildren which came along after the stroke occurred therefore his grandchildren only knew him as the loving Poppa that sat in a chair all the time but they loved him without reservations because Poppa had a big lap that held 3 precious grandchildren much of the time.

Orbie is survived by his cherished wife of 50 years, Sharon (Yates); sons, Darin Lee, Todd Edwin and Jamie Allen Case all of New London; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Taylor, Teah Mae and Cody Robert Case and sister, Gwean Anderson of New London.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gearline Stewart and father-in-law, Carbet Yates.

Orbie's family will greet friends on Sunday, May 17th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where services will be held 11 am Monday. Burial will immediately follow in Fitchville Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions in Orbie's name can be given to Heartland Hospice, 333 North Summit Street, Toledo, Ohio 43604.
