Patricia Ann Runkle

Patricia Ann Runkle, age 85, of New London, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2016 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky.

On September 26, 1930, Pat was born to the late Morris and Lydia (Smith) Cawrse in Cleveland, Ohio. She moved to the New London area at age 6. Patricia was a 1948 graduate of New London High School. She also went on to earn a secondary degree from Oberlin Business College. Patricia worked for the former CE Ward Company.

She was a member of the New London Alliance Church. Patricia loved reading, word search puzzles and following all of Ohio's sports teams, especially the Cleveland Cavs and Indians. Patricia also enjoyed singing in the choir.

Patricia is survived by her children, Diane (Robert) White of North Fairfield, Denise (Brian) Smith of North Fairfield, Darlene (Joseph) Ludington of New London, Donna (Clark) Smith of New London and Dale (Kitty) Runkle of Hayesville; grandchildren, Ryan McGhee, Shannon White, Amber White, Mark White, Kailen White, Addie Shock, Kib Runkle, Daniel Smith, Aaron Ludington, Lydia Smith and Carrie Smith and siblings, Arthur Cawrse of Washington State, James Cawrse of Louisville, Ohio and Virginia Hahn of Norwalk.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard "Bernie"; an infant son, "Alan" and her brother, George Cawrse.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Eastman Funeral Home in New London on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 3-6 pm where a service will be held Monday at 11 am with Pastor Doug Lang officiating. A burial will follow in Fitchville Cemetery.
