Raymond Hollingsworth Obituary

Raymond Edwin Hollingsworth, 94, of Amherst, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin. He was born on March 26, 1921 in Amherst to the late Henry and Eliza (nee Lutz) Hollingsworth.

Raymond was a lifelong resident of Amherst and left, only briefly, to serve in the Navy Reserves during WWII. He worked for South Amherst Quarry and for John H Ruth delivering coal. Ultimately Raymond became a concrete mason. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Raymond was an automobile enthusiast; he loved to work on cars, to drive them, or even just to look at them.

Raymond is survived by his children James E. (Dianne) Hollingsworth of Wellington, and Barbara Ann Crabtree of VA; step-children Anna Lou, Mike, Donny, and Janice; grandchildren Desiree, James, and Chris. He was preceded in death by his first wife Geraldine in 1972, and his second wife, Jean, in 2003; a son Robert Allen, step-daughter Rose; and siblings Harold and Mildred.

Friends and family are invited to gather on Monday, November 30, for a graveside service at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Rd, Avon, 44011, beginning at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond's memory may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice, and expressions of sympathy may be directed online at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
