Ruth Beattie Obituary
Ruth Jeanette Beattie of Ruggles passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Crystal Care Center in Ashland.
She was born June 23rd, on the family farm in Ruggles, to the late Wilson and Jeanette Beattie. Ruth graduated from Ruggles School and Ohio State. She taught math at Rittman High School from 1945 until her retirement in 1976.
Ruth was affiliated with the Ruggles Church. She enjoyed the simple things in life; berry picking, bird watching and observing nature as it unfolded daily on her family farm. She also was a big Cleveland Indians fan and loved watching her great nieces and great nephews play ball.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jim (Becky) Beattie of Ruggles, Don (Dreama) Beattie of Ruggles, Sandy (Ted) Turk of Loudonville and Linda Knee of Ashland and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, William "Bill" (Miriam) Beattie and a great niece.
A family graveside service was held at Ruggles Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ruggles Church, 1364 State Route 224, New London, Ohio 44851 or Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
