Ruth Cowie

Ruth (nee Riebe) Cowie, 97, was received at Heaven's Gates, May 11, 2016. Born in 1918, She lived through many hardships and joys. Raised 6 children, was a faithful member of the Rochester United Methodist Church, active in the United Methodist Women's group, served as treasure of the auxiliary of the Rochester Volunteer Fire Dep. for many years.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Augusta Riebe, husbands Robert Ulm and Loren "Buck" Cowie, Son Roger Ulm and grandson Robby Ulm. She is survived by her children Ron Ulm (Greg), Ricki (Bill) Spicer, Rita (Dale) Bodey, Rollie (Bertie) Ulm, Ruthann (Mike) Kennedy; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth loved to read, crochet, and play games with family. An avid sports fan, Ruth enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and Little League playoffs. She also loved to cook, bake, and was just an awesome mother and faithful servant of the Lord.

Friends and Family will be received on Thursday, May 12, from 5-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main, Wellington and again on Friday beginning at 10 until the time of services at 11 a.m., Rev. Jim Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery on Griggs Rd. Donations in Ruth's memory may be directed to the Rochester United Methodist Church, 201 South Street, Rochester, 44090.
