Theodore Mahl Obituary

Ted Mahl, 92, of New London, Ohio, passed away April 1st at hospice in Columbus, Georgia. Ted grew up in New London and enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1943 at the height of World War II. He served as a bomber pilot and was stationed in the Asia Pacific Theater until the end of the war. He completed his education at Southern California University where he met his first wife, Jeanne. They were married in 1946 and had two children, Janis and Craig.

Ted started an insurance brokerage in the Los Angeles area which he managed until Jeanne's death in 1980 at which time he started a new career teaching high school business classes.
Ted reconnected with his high school sweetheart Mary Enderby, who was also widowed, at their 50th high school class reunion in 1990. They wed two months later. He remained a devoted husband until her death in 2012.

Ted was extremely proud of his military service and was active in the American Legion, New London, where he was a past commander. Ted was also very active as a volunteer in SCORE a national small business advice agency.

In addition to his children, Ted is survived by his grandson John Fellows, his sister Ruth (Mahl) Chance, and nieces Susan and Michelle.

A graveside memorial service for Ted will be held at the Grove Street Cemetery, New London, on May 30th at 11:00 a.m. following which a light lunch will be served at the American Legion Hall.

It is suggested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Legion Post, New London. OH.
