Thomas Joseph Yourich, 90, of Wellington, died Sunday, July 10, 2016, at his home surrounded by family. Born on April 7, 1926 in Windber, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (nee Purbilla) Yourich. Thomas spent his childhood in PA before joining and proudly serving in the United States Navy. In the early 50's Thomas resettled his family in the Cleveland area and then in 1965 to Huntington.
Thomas worked as a millwright at Bendix for many years and after retirement worked for Huntington Township. His passion was farming which he enjoyed for most of his life. Thomas was a lifetime member of the VFW, the UAW, and a member of the Grange. He was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Wellington.
Thomas is survived by his children Renae Hunter of Wellington, Thomas E. Yourich of Wellington, Corrine Richards of VA, Leona Smally of Wellington, and Mark Yourich of Avon; 14 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his loving wife Luella Yourich, his son Larry, 3 sisters, 6 brothers, grandson Lane Williams, and great grandson Tyler Hunter.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, July 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St., Wellington, 44090. Services will be held on Thursday, at Bethany Lutheran Church,231 East Hamilton St, Wellington, beginning at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dale Huelsman officiating and burial will follow at Huntington Cemetery.
