Troy Thomas Mills

Troy Thomas Mills, 38, of Wellington passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Born on December 28, 1979 in Oberlin to Thomas and Mary Jo (nee Clodwick) Mills, Troy grew up in Wellington and graduated with the Wellington High School Class of 1998.

For the past 6 years, Troy worked as an Air Traffic Controller at the Cleveland Air Route Traffic Control Center Oberlin. He was a member of the Wellington Eagles. Troy was very athletic; he went to State twice in High School for golf. He also played basketball and football, setting school records for assists, steals, and scoring.

The most important part of Troy's life was his family. He loved playing with his three kids and spending time with his wife. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, as well as being outdoors and hiking.

He is survived by his wife of almost 9 nine years, Ashley (nee Whitney); children, Alexandria, Luke and Cody; parents, Thomas and Mary Jo Mills; sister, Trisha (Brett) Kehl; nephew, Zachary Kehl; grandmothers, Marion Mills and Ellen Cottrell and in-laws, Skip and Cindy Whitney. Troy was preceded in death by grandfathers, Paul Mills, Henry Clodwick, and Ronald Cottrell.

As his children were most important to him, the Mills family encourages memorial donations to a fund in their names at Huntington Bank. There will be a celebration of Troys life at the Wellington Eagles on Sunday February 4, at 1 pm, a private burial will take place at Greenwood cemetery.
