Valerie Steele-Schmitz, age 59, of Homerville died July 13, 2016.
Valerie was born November 13, 1956 at Elyria Memorial Hospital, Elyria, Ohio to Ralph and Margaret Steele of Homerville, Ohio. She married David Schmitz December 30, 2008.
Valerie enjoyed the farm life and was especially happy when riding and caring for her horses.
She is survived by her husband, David Schmitz; two stepsons, Barrett and Aaron Schmitz; mother, Margaret Steele; two brothers, Ralph (Teresa) Steele of Sullivan and Randolph (Lisa) Steele of Polk; two sisters, Gloria Recuperio of Bedford Heights, Penelope Steele of Mansfield; three nephews, James Recuperio, Michael and Jonathan Steele; four nieces, Christina Kosht, Melissa Kosht, Brooke Steele, and Elizabeth Steele, and four step-nieces, Sara Zepeda-Moore (Logan), Heather (Matthew)Marshall, Meredith (Jeffrey) Hall, and Michelle (Timothy) Williams.
Valerie was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Steele of Homerville, Ohio and brother, Eric Steele of Medina, Ohio.
Final arrangements are pending future notice. It is anticipated that the family will hold a private memorial in the near future.
