William R. Tegtmeyer, 89, of Venice, Florida and formerly of Wellington, died February 15, 2017. Born in Weymouth on May 19, 1927 to the late Edward T. and Matilda (nee Brand) Tegtmeyer, William was a 1945 graduate of Wellington High School. Following graduation, he served in the Army from 1945 to 1947 and was stationed in Germany.
He was an electrician at GM and Ford in Sandusky. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wellington. A true handyman, he also loved woodcarving.
William is survived by his children, W. Frederick (Charlotte) Tegtmeyer, of Nova and Teddi Lee (Jonathon) Benson, of Laramie, WY; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and he also leaves many wonderful and caring friends at Bella Vita where he resided for four years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline; second wife, Dorothy and siblings, Leonard Tegtmeyer and Alice Norris.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, February 18 from 10 am until the 11 am service at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, Ohio 44090 with Pastor Tom Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
