Carole Andrea Granvold, 75, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Gaymont Care and Rehabilitation in Norwalk. She was born on June 30, 1944 in Galion, Ohio to the late Charles and Maxine (Rider) Gelsanliter.
Carole grew up in Galion and had lived in Norwalk and Loma Linda, California and Eden Valley, Colorado at one time. She had attended Norwalk High School before graduating from Mt. Vernon Academy in 1963. Carole had a varied career, working in factories, as a nurses aid, school janitor, Norwalk Middle School cafeteria, and for Meijer’s deli in Sandusky for 15 years until her retirement.
Carole was a member of the Norwalk Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was an avid walker logging many laps around the Norwalk Reservoir. She enjoyed flowers, spending time with grandchildren and visiting Kingwood Center, Charles Mill Dam and Mohican State Park in Mansfield and the lighthouse in Huron.
Survivors include her daughters, Miranda June Hawley of Buchanan, Michigan and Cynthia Gail Libby of College Place, Washington; grandchildren, Sonya Granvold, Diamond Hawley, Myah Hawley, Roslyn Libby and Cody Libby.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Granvold and brother, Robert Gelsanliter.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Norwalk Seventh Day Adventist Church, 400 Executive Drive, Norwalk, Ohio beginning at 2:00 P.M., Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W.
