Cleet Ivan Tyson, 81, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 26, 2019. Born on December 16, 1937, he was the son of the late Hinton and Dorothea (nee Shough) Tyson. Cleet was a 1955 graduate of Norwalk High School.
A hamersmith by trade, Cleet retired from Brooker Brothers Forging in Norwalk. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Cleet enjoyed bowling and spending time camping. He rarely missed one of his children’s sporting events and enjoyed cheering them on. Cleet loved dogs and enjoyed dog sitting for his granddogs.
Survivors include his children Christina (Peter Jr.) Amato, of Sandusky, Kathleen (Eric) Aquino, and Michael (April) Tyson, both of Norwalk; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Ayris (Dallas) Newton, of Norwalk. Cleet was preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley, and his brother Lee Tyson.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, June 28, from 7-9 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main St, Norwalk, 44857. Services will be held on Saturday, at Calvary Baptist Church, 250 Benedict Ave., Norwalk, beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
