Clifford Leonidas Dowdy, 72, of Sullivan, died Friday, October 25, 2019 at his home. The son of the late James and Mary Lee (nee Dixon) Dowdy, Clifford was born on March 8, 1947 in Zenith, WV. He graduated from West Tech High School in Cleveland.
Cliff proudly served his country in the United States Army in Korea from 1966-1968. For 35 years, he worked at Midland Steel and he was a member and Union Steward of UAW Local 486. He was passionate about old cars and enjoyed going to car shows. Cliff, along with his grandson, rebuilt a 1957 Ford.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Patrice (Steven) Timothy, of Sullivan and grandchildren, Ashley (Brandon) Null and Brett (Courtney) Timothy. Clifford was also an uncle to many, a beloved cousin and great friend. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Helen (nee Conroy).
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 5-7 p.m., followed by military rites at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington.
