Doyal Cutnaw Obituary

Doyal D. Cutnaw, 87, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, Sunday October 6, 2019, at Gaymont Nursing Center, Norwalk, Ohio. Doyal was born on July 31st, 1932 in Butler, Ohio, to the late Hershel R. and Irene D. Cutnaw. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary J. (Koepele), on October 30, 1954, and together, they raised a beautiful family of seven children. Doyal was a certified plumber by trade for 50 years, as a member of Local 42 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union, and retired in 1994.He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with family. He was a faithful supporter of St. Mary and St. Paul Catholic Church, and a volunteer plumber for many building projects throughout the community, as well as for neighbors and friends.

Doyal is survived by his loving wife of almost 65 years, Mary J. (Koepele) Cutnaw of Norwalk, Ohio, by his children, Diane (Mark) Schaffer, Patti (Skip) Wilde, Marilyn (Larry) Becker, Denny (Lisa) Cutnaw, Therese Cutnaw of Norwalk, Ohio, David (Monique) Cutnaw of Florida, and Tim (Tiffany) Cutnaw of South Carolina. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jason, Amy, Julie, Allison, Bethany, Laura, Scott, Brenden, Austin, Greg, Andrew, Trisha, Kayleigh, Katie, Billy, and Taylor, and by 19 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law, Lowell and Carol Cutnaw, and great-grandchild, Jude Linder.

Friends may call on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 4 pm until 7 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk.  A funeral mass will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 10:30 am with Msgr. Ken Morman officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery with military honors.  The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Gaymont Nursing Center and Stein Hospice for their loving care.  Memorial contributions if desired may be made to either Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main St., Norwalk, OH 44870.
