Goldie Marie Hunter, 81, of Wellington, died Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the New Life Hospice center in Lorain. Born on February 6, 1938 in Teaberry KY, she was the daughter of the late Garfield and Edna (nee Tackett) Hamilton. Goldie moved to the Wellington area in 1959.
Goldie worked for the Hinton POV Products Plant in Wellington and then for Forest City, where she retired. She was a member of the Wellington Freewill Baptist Church. Goldie enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She would spend hours canning to share the fruits of her labor. Goldie also enjoyed quilting and was know for her delicious home cooking. Most of all Goldie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her loving family.
Survivors include her husband Ealies Hunter; daughters Barb Hunter, of KY, Doris Thomas, of GA; son Jeff Hunter, of SC; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a sister Genive Shipley, of Wellington; and countless friends. Goldie was preceded in death by two sons Kelvine Andrew and Brian Lloyd; and brothers Thomas, Ernest and Danny Hamilton.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, July 17, from 10 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 11 a.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main, Wellington. Burial will follow at Penfield Cemetery.
