William R. Hehr “Pap Pap”, 87, of Sullivan, died on January 7, 2020 at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin. He was born to the late George and Bertha (nee Devlin) Hehr on January 7, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA. He moved to Cleveland in the late 50’s before locating to Huntington.
William proudly served in the U.S. Army and went on to work at Westinghouse. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, playing golf, farming with his neighbors and traveling, especially to the outerbanks with family.
He is survived by his children, Rick Hehr, of North Carolina, Jim (Cindy) Hehr, of Cleveland, Sue (Bill) Hamer, of Wellington and Lisa Hehr, of Sullivan; grandchildren, Bryan (Kim), Melissa, Patrick (Jen), Jason (Ashley) and Julie (Larry); great grandchildren, Braden and Caleb Hamer, Patrick and Jack Hehr, and Trevor Wacker. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Ann (nee Nesmith) Hehr and brothers, Donald and Edward Hehr.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 4-7 pm at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main Street, Wellington. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 12 pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 512 N. Main Street, Wellington, with Father Trask officiating. Burial will follow at Huntington East Cemetery.
