William Landoll Obituary

William Lawrence Landoll, 78, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, died Monday, June 10, 2019 at Stein Hospice surrounded by his family. Born on January 23, 1941 in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Carrie (nee Nielsen) Landoll. William was a 1959 graduate of St. Paul High School.

William was a manager with Grill Meats and later Chefs Pantry. He was a devoted member of St Mary Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church. He was also a member of the American Legion, the Eagles, Fitchville Conservation League, and the NRA. William had a deep love for his county and its history and enjoyed reading about World War II. He liked building models, working on jigsaw puzzles, and taking photographs. William was an avid sports fan and followed the Indians, Ohio State, and the Browns.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 46 years, Gretchen Landoll; children Julee (Rick) Trautman Fries, of Norwalk, Lisa (Pat) Trautman Schultz, of Columbus, Tom Landoll, of Columbus, Steve (Stacey) Landoll, of Dublin, and Maria (Eric) Livengood, of Norwalk; grandchildren Jamie, Nick, Max, Jake, Jared, Isaac, Joe, Alanna, Jenna, Tyler, Lars, Emmy, and AJ; great-grandchildren Oscar, Olivia, and Sophia; sisters Karen Lawrence, of NC, and Kacey (Larry) Opper, of Norwalk; sister-in-law Mary Landoll; and his canine companion Josie. William was preceded in death by his first wife Carolyn (nee Lonz) Landoll and his brother Robert Landoll.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, June 13, from 4-7 p.m. at Walker Eastman Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main St, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will held on Friday, 10:30am, at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer, Catholic Church, 38 West League St, Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Donations in Williams memory may be directed to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, 44870.
