Anna L. Hickle

Anna L. Hickle, 101, of Wellington, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Medina General Hospital. She was born to the late Julia (nee Wink) and Harry McGettigan in Akron on March 24, 1917. Anna spent her childhood in West Virginia and moved to Wellington in 1980.

She was a member of the Wellington Lincoln Street Chapel and participated in The Helping Hand Circle. Anna enjoyed reading, playing crads, crocheting, bowling and she always looked forward to visiting the county fair. Anna also loved to attend parties and celebrations with family and friends. Family was most important to her and she will always be known as the best aunt ever.

She leaves behind 5 generations of family including her loving caretaker and niece, Nancy Werdebaugh, niece Patty Elkin, and nephew Darrell Davis, and a host of great nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by her loving husband Frederick Hickle; her twin brother William F. McGettigan, brother Harry D. McGettigan, sisters Martha E. Lattimer and Olive B. Carr, and brother James E. McGettigan Sr.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington at 10 am until the time of service beginning at 11 with Steven Marchand officiating.
