Arthur Aukerman Obituary

Arthur "Bud" Aukerman
1932-2018

Bud was born in Wooster, OH, the son of Florence and Ora Aukerman. He moved several times during his childhood and after marrying the love of his life, Charlene, they resided in Sullivan for 61 years.

Bud was a Corporal in the USMC and served on the front lines in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for over 50 years.

Bud enjoyed gambling and spending the winters with Charlene at their home in Placida, FL. He loved being a snowbird.

He is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Tom) Tyree of Wooster and his son, Gary (Elaine) Aukerman of Jeromesville. Four grandchildren, Brandon Briggs of Willard, Karen Mathena of Stow, Seth Aukerman and Allison Aukerman of El Paso, TX. Also, four great-grandchildren, William, Samuel, and Kate of Stow and Gabriel of El Paso.

Besides his wife Charlene, there are many relatives glad to see dad as he made his way through heaven's door.

Burial will be a private ceremony at the convenience of the family at the National Cemetery in Rittman with full honors.

The family would like to thank the Wayne County Care Center and LifeCare Hospice of Wayne County for the wonderful care and compassion they gave dad.
