Betty Ann Fahler

Betty Ann (nee Arndt) Fahler, 82, of Wellington, passed away suddenly, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Mercy Allen Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born on August 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Elsie (nee Crile) Arndt. She married her high school sweetheart Gerald E. Fahler and for 64 years they resided in Wellington.
In her youth she attended Wellington Schools. She was a band majorette, celloist, and 4-H participant. As an adult she worked at Attorney Wagner and Dr. Duffy's offices, the First United Methodist Church, Wellington High School, Oberlin College, and Oberlin Town Shop. She was an active in gardening, canning, sewing, and quilting, all of which she excelled at. Betty will be remembered as an amazing cook by her family. She was also a member of the Penfield Quilters Club.
She and Gerald renovated 13 homes and a travel trailer together. They traveled across the United States, Europe, and took annual Caribbean Cruises and camping trips.
Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 64 years Gerald; children Michael (Donna) Fahler, of Wellington, Daniel Fahler, of Sullivan, Donna Zethof, of Grafton , Pamela (Rick) Fahler-Haynes, of Wellington; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister and best friend Nola Deal, of East Lansing MI.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Mercy Allen Hospital for the care and compassion that they received.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, July 25, from 4-7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 127 Park Place, Wellington, where services will be held on Thursday, beginning at 11 a.m. Rev Paul Wilson will officiate and burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Betty's family suggests donations in her memory be directed to either, the Penfield Quilters, Well-Help, the First United Methodist Church, or the American Lung Association.
