Betty Kepler Obituary
Betty Lou (Faus) Kepler, 85, of Wellington, passed away Sunday July 1, 2018 in New Orleans, LA. Betty was born on September 25, 1932 in Wellington, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Evelyn (Sheriff) Merrill. After the untimely death of her parents when she was very young, Betty was adopted by Dr. Ralph W. Faus. She lived her entire life, with the exception of the last five years, in Wellington, Ohio.
Betty was a 1950 graduate of Wellington High School and attended Baldwin Wallace College. Betty loved her Village of Wellington where she was an active member of the Wellington Athletic Booster Club for over forty years. She was an accomplished seamstress, wallpaper hanger, and homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing and spending time with her beloved Golden Retriever. Betty was an avid sports fan of football and basketball. She loved spending time in New Orleans and at Higgins Lake, Michigan.
Betty was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Russell W. Kepler in 2002 and great grandson Fitzpatrick Swartzmiller in 2017, a sister, and two brothers. She is survived by her children Deborah (James) Dobney of Medina, Mark Kepler of Wellington, Deidra (Christopher) Edwards of New Orleans, LA; grandchildren Sarah Dobney (Scott) Swartzmiller, Rachel Dobney (Odie) Sayachak, Misti Kepler (Hunter) Ford, Matthew Kepler, Blaise and Catherine Edwards; great grandchildren Russell (RJ) Sayachak, Grace Swartzmiller, Sophie and Hailey Ford, and sister in law Starr Hagenmeyer.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2pm at the Norton Eastman Funeral Home in Wellington. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
