Cecelia Kathryn Draves

Cecelia Kathryn Draves, 96, of New London, died Saturday, March 17, 2018 at home. Born on July 23, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Ellen (nee O'Hara) Daugherty. Cecelia was a 1939 graduate of Wakeman High School, after graduation she attended Bowling Green University.

Until her marriage in 1947, Cecelia worked for the Federal Government, after that time she joined her husband working on the family farm. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in New London.

Survivors include her daughter Margaret "Peggy" (Dave) Loera, of New London; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cecelia was preceded in death by her husband John "Jack" Draves in 1993; her son Daniel Edward Draves in 2000; sisters Mary Ellen Mockler and A. Louise Murray; and foster brothers Ralph and Don Bergreen.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, March 21, from 2-4 pm and from 7-9 pm at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Ave, New London, 44851 on Thursday 22, beginning at 11:30 am, Father Kishore Kottana will officiate and burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, New London. The Family wishes that memorial donations be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, New London, to establish the Cecelia Draves Foundation, to help musically talented children learn to sing and play during church services, or to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, 44870.
