Clarence "Pete" Dupont, 70, of New London, died October 7, 2017 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky. He was born on January 9, 1947 in Garrett, PA to the late William John and Charlotte (nee Haer) Dupont. Pete moved with his family to Ohio when he was in grade school. He attended both Margaretta and Sandusky High School and later worked for the former Hinde and Dauch Paper Company in Sandusky and retired from Tenneco Automotive. Pete spent the majority of his life in the local area.
He loved hunting and fishing and was a family man. He had also attended the New London Alliance Church.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of nearly 24 years, Beverly (nee Moyer) Dupont; children, Dean Dupont, Chad (Danielle) Dupont and Tiffany Collins; stepchildren, Ashley (Steve) Denbow and Elizabeth Stratton; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sisters, Deb (Casey) Christner, Cindy (Ed Bittener) Wellington; brother, Jerry (Nancy) Dupont; sisters-in-law, Janet Dupont and Barbara (Steven) Ers; aunt, Peg Haer; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his brother, George Dupont; brother-in-law, Tom Wellington and niece, Teresa Wilson.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
