Darren James Bess, 42, of New London, passed away suddenly on Friday October 20, 2017 from a fatal drug overdose. Darren was a loving father, husband and son, who enjoyed spending time with his wife and children. He was a talented welder, mechanic and mason.
Ultimately, Darren succumbed to a battle with addiction. In the midst of loss and sadness, the family acknowledges the struggles Darren had, with the intent that through their honesty and strength, they might wake up some of the people in our community facing the same demons, and future.
Darren is survived by his longtime companion of nearly 26 years, and loving wife of 12 years, Connie (nee Wolery) Bess; children, Cayla, Dylan and Sydney Bess; father, Jack Bess; mother, Georgia Bonderer; siblings, Denise Boyce and Mark Bess; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Dixon and grandparents Robert and Viola Charville.
A visitation will be held from 1 pm until the 2 pm service on Tuesday, October, 24, 2017 at Eastman Funeral Home in New London. Burial will follow in Fitchville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Eastman Funeral Home in care of the family.
