Doris Siegfried Obituary
Doris E. Siegfried, 89, died Friday, September 29, 2017, at Wesleyan Village in Elyria. She was born on July 3, 1928, in Huntington Township to the late Maxine (nee Skeeles) and Harold C. Kelsey. Doris graduated from Wellington High School with the class of 1946.
As a youth Doris assisted her parents on the family farm in Huntington. She later worked at Skeeles Ford Sales in Wellington where a lifelong love of automobiles began. Doris became skilled at bookkeeping and taxes. She served as the Lorain County Fair Board bookkeeper, worked at the Lowther and Ashbaugh law firm, and operated her own accounting and tax business. She was a member of the Huntington United Methodist Church where she played the organ for several years and also kept the books.
A devoted mother, Doris is survived by her children: Randall Brown of Bellevue, WA, and Valerie Brown of Elyria; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Wilbur (Shirley) Kelsey of Huntington and Barbara Falkner of Marietta, Ohio. Doris was preceded in death by her siblings: Edward Dean Kelsey and Marilyn Brown, and by her husband Ivan Siegfried.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 11 a.m., at Huntington Township Cemetery.
