Frances Elizabeth Radcliffe

Frances Elizabeth Radcliffe, 93, formerly of New London, died Saturday, April 20, 2019, at her daughter's home in Willard, surrounded by her family. Born on December 7, 1925 in Penfield, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Kittie Pearl (nee Crow) Foster. Frances grew up in the North Fairfield area in the early 30's, raised her family in New London, and retired to Norwalk.

Frances worked for the New London School cafeteria for a short time but her true gift was sewing. She was an expert seamstress and worked for the C. E. Ward Co for 25 years, and then 11 years for New London Regalia and Thomas Creative Apparel. In retirement she worked for K-Mart in Norwalk. Frances was a member of the Clarksfield United Methodist Church, an honorary member of the New London and Ohio State Grange, and a past secretary of the LaGrange Engine Club. She enjoyed volunteering with the Salvation Army, and for over 10 years cooked and worked with their Disaster Relief team. Frances passionately followed the Cleveland Indians. She enjoyed playing her organ, listening to the Gaithers and the Grand Ole' Opry, and playing pinochle and euchre.

Survivors include her children Irene Williams, of Wakeman, Evelyn (Roger) Coy, of New Haven, and Thomas (Roberta) Radcliffe, of Sullivan; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren with 2 more expected. Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband Ralph "Shorty" Radcliffe; infant grandson Mark Williams; siblings Carl, Blain, Ruth, and Merle Foster, and Mildred Anderson and Mary Clark; and son-in-law James Williams.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, April 23 from 4-7 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London, 44851, and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery.
