Gary "Froggy" Smith, 73, residing in Norwalk, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 29, 2022, at the Norwalk Memorial Home.

Gray was born on August 11, 1949, in Willard, OH to the late Walter and Evelyn (Burkhart) Smith.

Gary was a graduate of Willard High School and OU Athens where he earned his master's degree and studied for his PhD. After graduating he would become a math teacher with Columbus City Schools and later became a math Professor at Columbus State and Devry University. He was a lifelong math tutor to underprivileged students. Dad was an active member of his block watch community as well as headed the community garden.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Jessica Wells of Dublin; grandchildren, Lestat, and Anaya, and numerous brothers and sisters. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his significant other, Lance Wells, and three siblings.

Per Gary's wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held at this time. Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home is honored to assist the family.

Memorial contributions in Gary's honor can be made to his family in care of Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. The funds will be used for his grandchildren's tuition as Gary valued higher education.
