Geneva Blanton

Geneva (Lewis) Blanton, 89 years young, of Rochester, Ohio went to be with her heavenly father on
Friday, March 16, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at the Laurels of New London. She was born on February 9, 1929 in Kentucky, to the late Ballard and Georgie Lewis.

Granny to all as she was fondly called was a wonderful mother and homemaker, canning and freezing the bounty from the plentiful garden of her loving husband Bill, but Gen's passion was traveling. She had taken several cruises, traveled to many states and was always eager to go when her family was up for another trip. Being a devoted member of the New London Church of Christ, of all the wonderful trips she had taken, now she has started the greatest and best journey of all... .to be with her Heavenly Father.

Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Bill Blanton. She is also survived by a son, Dennis (Deb) Blanton; daughters, Carolyn Sue (Mike Fry) Hunter, Sheila Ann (Steve) Roper, Valery Jean (Tim) Moffit; son-in-law, Mike Boose; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Adkins and special friends, Gary and Deb Martin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her daughter, Jennifer Boose; son, Michael Blanton and siblings, Pamela Hughes, Henrietta McClanahan and Betty Meadows.

The visitation for Geneva will be held at Eastman Funeral Home in New London from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Donnie Beverly officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Rochester, Ohio.
