Howard Arthur Jameyson, 91, of Wellington, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018. He was born January 22, 1927 in Wellington, Ohio where he lived all of his life. He grew up on his family farm until he left to join the Navy serving on an ammunition ship, the USS Mazama. Upon returning from WWII, he worked for General Motors for 39 years.
He enjoyed playing softball, golf, bowling and successfully coaching a hot stove league to the state tournament. Howard was active in many social, civic and community organizations including the Masonic Lodge (earning his 32nd degree), member of the Shiners where he volunteered for the Special Olympics for many years. He was proud to be the longest living member of the Wellington Eagles, the Scottish Rite, and also a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy (McQuate) Jameyson; children, Kathy Jameyson, Linda Barber (Robert), Gary Jameyson (Mary), Lary Jameyson (Cyd); grandchildren, Joshua Jameyson (Lindsay), Katie Sink (Ben), Megan Barber, Marissa Saunders (Mark), Rachel Barber (Trent); great-grandchildren, Teague Arthur, Tenley, Cecelia, Tristan, Kennedy and Sylvia.
His loving family will have a private graveside burial at Greenwood Cemetery. You will forever be in our hearts and we love you forever Dad.
