Leroy Helman Jr., 79, of Wellington, died Thursday, November 28, 2024. Born on May 13, 1945 in Piqua, Ohio, he was the son of the late Leroy and Sarah (nee Hobbs) Helman Sr. Leroy grew up in Piqua before moving to Wellington 55 years ago.

Leroy worked as a truck driver with Cleveland City Forge for many years before retiring. He enjoyed old cars and collected models of his favorites. Leroy was a man of many talents and in all he did he did them with precision and care, especially his lawn. Most of all Leroy cherished time with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Rita (nee Reed) Helman; daughters, Tammy Willets, of Florida, Candy (Mark) Knittel, Tonya (Chad Oakes) Frame, and Michele (Ernie) Wetherbee, all of Wellington; grandchildren, Josh (Melissa) Willets, Ashley (Corey Azok) Willets, Devin (Nicole) Justice, Alexis (Chris Buri), Sarah (Amit Deshpande), Madison (Spencer) Constable, and Kaleigh (Wayne Anielski); great-grandchildren, Emma, Kinsley, Micah, Noah, Savanah, Dawson, Serenity, Kingsley, and Kash; siblings, Shirley Vogler, Lee Helman, and Tom Helman. In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by his sisters Joyce and Linda, and his grandson Cody Wallace.
